Well-managed forests
Business area Forest takes care of SCA's large forest holdings. We have extensive experience in caring for and cultivating the forest. Our forests are managed long-term with the ambition to both produce more valuable raw materials and to preserve and develop the forest's other values. We also buys timber from private forest owners and offer them a broad variation of forestry services for profitable and sustainable forestry.

Our tree nurseries - for a new forest
SCA's plant operation NorrPlant lay the foundation for the next generation forest. Every year, around 100 million seedlings see the light of day on our own "forest nursery". Plants that grow into trees, bind carbon dioxide and form the forests of the future. Follow the development from seed to plant.

Thinning from above with drones
AirForestry, Holmen, SCA, Stora Enso and Sveaskog are joining forces in the Swedish AirForestry Pilot Project (SAPP). The groundbreaking collaboration is designed to jointly develop, test and evaluate drone-based thinning technology, with a combined investment of SEK 20 million.
Lightning-fast AI tray assistant at Bogrundet
SCA’s tree nursery Bogrundet has gained a new “tray assistant” that works at lightning speed. In just one second, the AI model determines whether a seedling tray is damaged and shall be sorted out.
Successful basal burning in Ångermanland
In April, SCA carried out a basal burning on 35 pine trees in Hornsjömon, part of SCA’s Conservation Park Sörgraninge. The fire makes the trees grow more slowly and develop dense wood impregnated with resin. Many species are adapted to this type of wood.
Hunting and fishing
Hunting is an important part our forest management. We offer hunting privileges to thousands of hunters each year. We also have a lot of waters for fishing experiences.
