- ABOUT SCA WOOD
A world-class sawmill industry
SCA’s sawmills are among the most modern in Europe. Using advanced technology, every part of the tree is put to use, resulting in climate-smart products tailored to customer needs. The sawmills add value to the forest and supply raw material to the fibre industry and the energy sector.

Well-invested sawmills increase the value of the forest
Two-thirds of a forest owner's revenue comes from the sawmills.

New technology at the heart of sawmill development
A fully digital representation of the sawmill flow, vast amounts of data, and new robotic processes.

Processed and climate-smart wood products
Construction timber, exterior cladding and wood for decks and outdoor environments – with the ability to store carbon for generations.

Bollsta sawmill
Located in Kramfors, Bollsta sawmill is one of the most modern and productive sawmills in Europe. With roots dating back to the 19th century, the mill has evolved into a high-tech facility that in many ways sets the standard for the sawmills of tomorrow.
Each year, the mill produces around 600,000 cubic metres of sawn pine. The main markets are Scandinavia, North Africa and Japan.

Gällö sawmill
Located on the island of Öhn in Gällö, Gällö sawmill is the largest in Jämtland in terms of production volume. With roots dating back to 1879, the sawmill has played a key role in Jämtland’s forest industry for nearly 150 years. SCA became a part-owner in 2010 and assumed full ownership in the first quarter of 2024.
The mill produces approximately 350,000 cubic metres of sawn wood annually, using spruce, pine and lodgepole pine. Deliveries are made to customers in Sweden and Norway, as well as exports to Europe, North Africa and China.

Munksund sawmill
Located in Piteå Municipality, Munksund sawmill is one of SCA’s five sawmills, with a history dating back to the late 19th century. Together with the adjacent paper mill, the facilities in Piteå are a clear example of the strong value chain SCA has built to maximize the value of the forest.
Each year, around 350,000 cubic metres of sawn pine are produced and distributed to markets in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, North Africa, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Rundvik sawmill
Located in Nordmaling, Rundvik sawmill combines a long tradition of wood processing with modern technology. With roots dating back to the late 19th century, it is today an important player in the regional wood industry.
The mill produces approximately 300,000 cubic metres of sawn spruce and pine annually, serving markets in Scandinavia, Europe and Southeast Asia. An integrated planing mill on site further processes part of the production specifically for the U.S. market.

SCA Wood Scandinavia
SCA Wood Scandinavia consists of three wood processing units located in Sundsvall, Stugun and Bollsta. These facilities produce value-added wood products such as exterior cladding, construction timber and decking for outdoor environments, primarily sold through building material retailers in Scandinavia.
Annual production includes approximately 200,000 cubic metres of planed wood. In addition, around 60,000 cubic metres are painted and 80,000 cubic metres are pressure-treated. The units also offer cut-to-length products tailored for industrial construction.

Tunadal sawmill
Located in Sundsvall, Tunadal is one of SCA’s largest and most productive sawmills. With a history dating back to the mid-19th century, it is the only remaining sawmill from Sundsvall’s historic sawmill era and remains a key part of the region’s industrial development.
The sawmill has an annual production of approximately 600,000 cubic metres of sawn spruce, which is exported to markets in Scandinavia, Europe and Southeast Asia.
