Engineering graduates take the next step
Wilma Norberg, Lovisa Dahlqvist, and Hanna Norberg work in different specialist roles at SCA Östrand. Now, they face their next challenge – SCA’s development program Early Career. With both curiosity and anticipation, they look forward to the journey ahead.
The Early Career program is aimed at employees who are either newly graduated or have a few years of work experience. Over the course of 18 months, participants combine their regular work with developmental efforts, both individually and in collaboration with their immediate manager.
What do they hope to gain from Early Career?
The trio is driven by different motivations but share the view that Early Career is an opportunity to build something long-term – both for themselves and their teams.
Wilma reflects on her career goals:
“For me, it’s already becoming clearer where I want to go. I want to work more commercially – with customers, contracts, and negotiations. And I love mathematics. Those are the types of tasks that motivate me.”
Hanna hopes to gain practical tools to use in her daily work:
“I want to learn methods and ways of working that will strengthen both myself and the team.”
Lovisa agrees and adds that the program can also lead to a better understanding of oneself and one’s strengths:
“It can be hard to know what the right path forward is when you’ve ‘only’ studied so far.”
All three agree that the most important goal of participating is to grow – both professionally and as colleagues.
