Taking SCA Kraftliner far into the future

  • News

The demand for renewable packaging will keep growing. That is why SCA invests 750 million Euro in a new paper machine for the production of Kraftliner in Obbola. Our annual production capacity will then go from 450 000 tonnes to 725 000 per annum.

The increased capacity is just one of the benefits. We are not relying on yesterday’s technology, we are determined to let SCA Kraftliner take a big step toward the future in every aspect. We are making huge investments that we hope will be to the benefit for our customers.

We’re making environmental improvements involving the replacement of an oil-fired lime kiln with one that is fired by biofuels (SCA pellets). This make us saving the atmosphere from another 20 000 tonnes of CO2 every year.

At the same time, we invest for higher product runability to be able to offer our customers higher productivity and less waste. AI-assisted quality inspection in combination with a triple-shoe press gives us unique conditions for printability on brown kraftliner.

Trust us, there’s a lot to look forward to.
