SCA’s growing forests bind carbon dioxide

  • News

Combatting climate change is the biggest environmental challenge of our time. Growing trees bind carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and bring us renewable raw material from which we make products that can replace those with a higher carbon footprint.

And as mature trees are harvested, they are replaced by new, vigorously growing trees and we can keep fossil coal in the ground.

The combined climate benefit from SCA’s growing forests and renewable products substituting fossil ones, amounts to 10.5 million tonnes of CO2, corresponding to the emissions from all passenger cars in Sweden.

As Europe’s largest private forest owner, we’re proud of our contribution to combatting climate change and to a more sustainable society.
