Recently, there were start-up days for the ninth round of the startup program Forest Business Accelerator. A new collaboration this year is that Sweco has joined as program responsible together with the incubator BizMaker, SCA, IBM and RISE.

The participants 2025 operate in various sectors with a connection to the forest such as foodtech, AI, wood processing and unmanned vehicles.

Startup-companies in the accelerator 2025

  • Scandinavian Woodprinting - Processes wood products into high-quality building and interior design materials.
  • Sleipner robotics - Develops unmanned vehicles for unstructured environments.
  • RM Labs - Develops plant-based ingredients for food and health.
  • Conifer vision - Develops AI models and measurement methods for field forest inventory.

“Once again, it is interesting to follow and collaborate with the selected companies, and also great that Sweco is now a part of the accelerator. This gives us a broader range within the program to both support the companies and to develop their business ideas. In turn, the companies provide us with input and knowledge on both current and established areas,” says Hans Johansson, coordinator of the accelerator for SCA and senior research specialist at the R&D Centre.

Through Sweco as one of the program responsible, new opportunities open up for the startup companies. With over 30,000 assignments per year and consultants all over the country, the company sees the accelerator program as an important arena for following technological shifts and collaborating with companies in the early stages. Sweco's role will be to both create new contact points with the market and contribute broad expertise that can help companies solve complex challenges.

“It will be exciting to see how and if we can cross-connect these different startup companies so that they can strengthen each other in a good way, says Pelle Berglund,” project manager for Forest Business Accelerator and business developer at BizMaker.
