In September, SCA was awarded the title Sustainable Company of the Year at the Sundsvall Business Awards. The awards and its partners have recognised businesses in Sundsvall for over 20 years. The award Sustainable Company of the Year was presented by ABB.

Vanessa Pihlström, Head of Marketing Communication and Sustainability at SCA Wood, accepted the award at the gala. “For SCA, this award clearly recognises our employees, customers and suppliers for their contributions to our sustainability management,” she says.

SCA’s sustainability strategy is based on the forest and a value chain that reduces society’s fossil dependence. The company prioritises the efficient use of resources and products that promote development towards a fossil-free world. “Our business model contributes climate benefits and we are delighted that this has been recognised by an award of this kind,” says Vanessa.

In justifying the award of the award, the jury highlighted SCA’s holistic approach and ability to combine commercial and societal benefits. Vanessa emphasises that the benefits of SCA’s products reach all the way to the end customer.

“Our products contribute to all of us living a fossil-free life. I am proud to work at SCA and delighted to be able to represent the group in accepting this award,” she says.
