Work within IT
We work with project and delivery management, design and architecture, as well as IT infrastructure and IT security. Major transformations and continuous improvements are part of our everyday work. Our key focus areas are ensuring the implementation of a new business system, creating the conditions to continue our digital journey, maintaining a stable infrastructure, and ensuring robust IT security. Our headquarters are in Sundsvall, and our IT operations are located in several locations across northern Sweden. We work closely with our mills, which manage local IT/OT (OT = Operational Technology).
SCA IT is part of the Group function Strategic Development. Our shared IT department at SCA consists of teams that work together with the business to support, improve, and secure our IT systems. IT is centralized to leverage common solutions and create synergies, but being close to the business is important to us.

More about SCA IT operations
SCA IT belongs to the strategic development group staff. We are organized in five departments:
- IT Security leads and drives the strategic IT/OT security work within SCA. The department identifies overall risks and manages them according to priority.
- IT Service Management is responsible for IT's internal processes, working methods and associated support tools such as Jira, Confluence, Solution Manager and CloudALM.
- IT Enterprise Applications is responsible for providing solutions and expertise so that SCA's business processes can be realized in an optimal way.
This means continuous improvement of existing solutions, development assignments and projects. Right now, we are working intensively on introducing a new SAP S/4HANA system and SCA common working methods. Our role in that project is to ensure quality, approve and own the new IT solutions.
How we are organized
The department has two groupings: Solutions Management designs and manages solutions for business systems together with our operations, while Technology Management is responsible for development and technical components.
- IT Applications develops and manages specific solutions for the business areas Wood, Forest, Renewable Energy and Purchasing & Logistics. IT Applications is also responsible for SCA's common solutions for, for example, internal and external communication, health and safety and digital workplace. An area that we are developing further is around digitization platforms that should be able to enable new innovative solutions.
- IT Infrastructure uses modern network solutions and cloud services, and work with industry-leading technologies in networking, cloud, and IT security.

Competent colleagues constantly developing me and together we push our IT department forward. The support I get from my boss is also very valuable to me in order to achieve a good balance between work and spare time.

We at SCA IT usually juggle many tasks at once and almost daily get challenges from the businesses to solve in a short time. It makes the job dynamic and stimulating. You make many contacts and can influence working methods into the organizations.
