As previously communicated, SCA had prepared to pause its FSC Forest Management certification in Sweden as of June 1, 2025. In light of constructive dialogues with the National Sámi Association (SSR) and FSC, SCA has decided to postpone the implementation of this pause.
This decision reflects a shared commitment to finding solutions to the challenges SCA identifies within the FSC certification framework. SCA views the ongoing discussions positively and hopes they will contribute to a long-term, sustainable path forward—aligned with FSC’s principles and the company’s high ambitions for responsible forest management.
SCA remains an active member of FSC, FSC Controlled Wood, and FSC Chain of Custody, and continues to advocate for improvements that enhance the credibility and practicability of the FSC system while deferring the implementation of a pause of SCA’s FSC-FM certification.
