E.ON, together with Swiss company: Credit Suisse Energie Infrastructure Partners, will build one of Europe's largest land-based wind parks in Sweden. The facilities are mostly located on SCA's land and most of it in the municipality of Härnösand.
The wind parks have an installed power of 475 megawatts, which gives energy equivalent to all household appliances in Västernorrland County.
“97 of 114 turbines are placed on SCA's land, which corresponds to approximately 1.4 TWh. This means that we approach 7 TWh in secured wind projects on our land. We have achieved the target we set 2011 at 5 TWh, and our aim is 8.5 TWh in 2025. SCA Vind started projecting Hästkullen and Björnlandhöjden in 2011. They were sold to E.ON and they are now investing in this wind park, which we are very pleased with.” says Milan Kolar, manager Vindkraft
The wind parks are located approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Härnösand. Hästkullen and Björnlandhöjden are situated in a wooded, in an area with excellent wind conditions. Construction work at the two sites is scheduled to start in 2018 and finalized within three years.
