Welcome to our Open House at SCA and Ortviken's paper mill at September 30th between 10.00 and 14.00. Take the opportunity to get an insight into Sundsvall’s largest private employer.
We will tell you about the development of recent years from being one of the world's largest producers of newsprint, to produce completely different paper. We also deliver surplus energy to Sundsvall Energi's district heating network. You will learn how that works and more.
We will have a guided tour through the paper mill, where children from 13 years can attend in company of an adult. The guided tour takes around an hour. The last trip is 13.30. During the guided tour we also stop for the following points:
- Ortviken today and in the future
Mill Manager Kristina Enander, and Product manager Sara Qvist, talks about Ortvikens situation now and what we can see in the future.
- Ortviken energy
The Energy Department explains how our surplus energy is used and is sufficient for heating around 9,000 households.
After the guided tour you are welcome to Bruksgården, just outside the entrence of Ortviken´s paper mill. There you'll be served sausages with bread, Festis (fruit drink) and coffee.
Paper station for the little ones
For the younger children there is a paper station at Bruksgården. Here they get the opportunity to make their own paper. This could be a great stop while parents, relatives and children over 13 visit the guided tour of the factory, for about an hour.
Ortviken's industrial adventure
At 10:30 and 12:30 there are opportunities to listen to Kjell-Åke Hermansson, a long-time employee at SCA. He takes us back in time and tells us about the development and importance of SCA and Ortviken for the region.
Merlo Arkiv has a photo exhibition in Bruksgården where you can see how the industry developed over the last hundred years.
