As Europe's biggest private forestry owner, with over two million hectares of forests, we feel a huge responsibility for both people and the environment.

We plant trees that will spend almost 100 years growing before being harvested. Taking this sort of long-term approach is part of our business strategy, part of our soul. Which is why we manage our forests in a way that ensures their wealth of biological diversity, natural attractions and, of course – timber – is as great tomorrow as it is today.

These forests provide the raw materials that we process into printing paper, here at Ortviken, and we put a great deal of effort into ensuring that these processes have the minimum possible environmental impact. We're successful, too – our printing paper bears both the FSC and PERF Chain of Custody traceability labels and the EU flower ecolabel, and complies with the Nordic Swan ecolabel criteria.
