I had worked as a research engineer and specialist at R&D for ten years before I started as an industrial doctoral student. My thesis was about mechanical pulps and achieving high levels of brightness for bleached kraft pulp. Higher pulp brightness makes it possible to increase the value of our end products. I have been able to create and develop my own ideas, which has been a lot of fun. After I completed my doctorate, I moved out to the development departments at Östrand and Ortviken. Then I changed completely to work in the production at the Östrand sulfate plant. Now I have changed course and am working as head of the lab at Ortviken, a new personal challenge. Being able to continuously learn is something I really appreciate.
