I studied chemical engineering in Luleå and when it was time to do my degree project, I applied further south. At SCA, there was a project related to the introduction of hardwood black liquor into the softwood digester and that was where I was given the chance to do my degree project. We studied how we could make better use of the raw material and achieve a stronger pulp. My degree project turned into project-based employment and now I have a permanent position. My title is R&D engineer, but I also work with patents. The forest industry feels challenging in a unique way because we work with a living material.

I find that SCA is good at seeing potential and believes in developing its employees. There is also substantial focus on having a positive work environment – physically and mentally.
