In place since 2004, the Code of Conduct is inspired by SCA's core values of respect, excellence and responsibility. Aligned with universal standards of business conduct as defined by the International Bill of Human Rights, ILO Core Conventions and OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the Code serves as a compass on individual and collective behaviour when employees are making business decisions or are faced with ethical dilemmas. The Code provides guidelines for SCA and its employees regarding business practices, health and safety, employee relations, human rights, nature and community.
- We will maintain compliance with our SCA Code of Conduct. All employees will receive regular training in the Code.
- We evaluate all of our supply streams from a total risk perspective. By 2020, we aim to source 100% of our procurement spend from suppliers committed to the criteria specified in our Global Supplier Standard.
Choosing the right partners
The more SCA grows, the more important it becomes for the Group to review its local suppliers and choose responsible business partners. The aim is to identify risks and develop the social and environmental performance of suppliers.
SCA's objective is to drive shared values and priorities throughout the supply chain in line with SCA's Global Supplier Standard.
Anti-bribery and corruption policy
SCA is committed to zero tolerance for unethical business behavior. The Anti-bribery and corruption policy lays down the rules to be applied at SCA in order to prevent corruption in all activities under SCA's control.
A company's reputation is based on trust – trust the company earns by managing its operations and relationships in a responsible manner. At SCA, corrupt business conduct is not tolerated in any form, and we have developed a spectrum of methods to evaluate compliance with business ethics.
In 2013, SCA adopted a new anti-corruption policy and assessed potential corruption risks. Anti-corruption is also included in our Code of Conduct and we have developed extensive training programs in the area. Our Business Practice Reviews, conducted by the internal audit function, are an effective way to identify risks in our daily operations.
SCA's whistle-blower system offers opportunities for all employees to confidentially report Code of Conduct breaches.
