Raw materials that have the appropriate properties and high quality are attractive – and a necessity to ensure that the end product maintains a high standard and is suitable for its purpose.
The slow-grown wood fibres of northern Sweden have unique qualities that are especially suited to visible wood and interior use. Already in conjunction with harvesting, the machine operator selects suitable raw materials based on a defined length and diameter for our products. By using our own high-quality raw material, we can ensure better delivery reliability and monitor quality and cost control.
The base of raw materials to SCA Timber's product program is supplied from SCA's own forest holdings in northern Sweden, which comprises 2.6 million hectares. SCA's forestry operations are certified in accordance with the standards of the FSC®(Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC™ (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).
