  1. SCA Timber’s customer magazine, Timber News, no. 1/2013 is released. Timber News is published in Swedish, English and French.

  2. At Timber Expo 2013, the Media Centre will be sponsored by SCA Timber Supply. Timber Expo is Britain’s only timber-focussed construction exhibition, covering all aspects of building with wood.

  3. With effect from today, 12th March 2013, Neil Emsley is appointed managing director of SCA Timber Supply in the UK.

  6. After steady growth since 2006, the Arab Spring of 2011 brought about a temporary cessation of timber deliveries to Uni4 Marketing, a company in which SCA Timber has a shareholding. However, 2012 saw volumes increase again, primarily to the Egyptian market.
  7. Norwegian house construction is on the way back to reaching the record figures of 2006. For SCA Timber in Stugun this has contributed to an annual growth of close to 50 percent, and a new addition to the company’s sales staff, based in Trondheim, Norway.
  8. This spring SCA Timber Supply was formed, in order to coordinate resources and ways of working in SCA Timber´s growing business as a supplier to the Scandinavian, British and French builders merchants sectors.
  9. The thinner the saw blade, the better the yield. Every reduction in the width of a blade that cuts through Nordic pine at Bollsta sawmill translates to big gains, both in revenue and for the forests technology.
  10. SCA will terminate production in the sawmills in Vilhelmina and Holmsund in Northern Sweden. This means that 98 employees at the two sawmills will become redundant.

  16. In mid-May, SCA Timber was visited by representatives of the French timber-processing company PLF, which was acquired in March. Over the course of a few intensive days with programmes extending from morning to evening, the French visitors managed to see SCA Timber’s operations and experience the Swedish countryside.

BM Skandinavien, SCA Timber’s unit for the further processing and supply of solid-wood products for the Scandinavian market, has signed an agreement with Beijer Byggmaterial under which BM Skandinavien will become the principal supplier of FSC-certified surface-treated and untreated exterior cladding for 23 stores in Sweden.
