Hygiene Products

Zewa Wisch & Weg - SCASCA is the marketleader in the AFH tissue segment with its Tork brand and no two in incontinence care with its TENA brand.

Zewa, Tempo and Danke are well-known brands on the German market. Zewa is a market leader in consumer tissue and holds a particularly strong position in toilet paper and household towels. Tempo is the market leader in paper handkerchiefs. Danke, made of 100% recycled fibre, is almost alone in its environmental niche market. SCA has got four German tissue mills and the Mannheim mill is Europe’s largest.

Packaging

SCA is Germany’s second largest player in the corrugated board segment. The company has about 20 packaging plants in the country. Two of SCA’s testliner mills are situated in Germany.

SCA Recycling Deutschland supplies recovered paper to SCA paper mills in Germany and in other European countries.

Forest Products

SCA is a small player in the graphic paper segment with an office in Mettman. Another small but important Forest Products unit is the SCA Transforest terminal in Lübeck. SCA products are shipped into Central and Southeastern Europe and recovered paper is shipped back to Scandinavia.

History

SCA entered the German corrugated board market in 1961.

In 1995 SCA acquired a majority shareholding in the German company PWA and thus became Europe’s largest hygiene products company. PWA primarily had operations within tissue, transport packaging and graphic paper.

In 2007 SCA acquired Procter&Gamble’s European tissue business, including the Tempo brand.
