NorrPlant holds ISO 14001 certification. We have worked with about 50 environmental goals since 1998, and introduced several key measures aimed at constantly improving our operations and reducing our environmental impact.
Our efforts include measuring the release of fertilisers, chemicals and copper into soil and water at Wifstamon’s nursery, and assessing the need and implementing measures to counter a negative environmental impact.
We have also minimised our own emissions of diesel exhaust into the air, and reduced our energy consumption of primarily electricity and diesel per million cultivated plants. This has mainly taken the form of tuning our boilers.
We have been using seedling trays made from returnable packaging for many years. They are melted down and re-used when they break or become outmoded.
