Here are some of the most frequent question that we receive from customers and other interested parties.
How can I order seedlings?
You can buy seedlings directly from NorrPlant, or from forestry management districts and our retailers. Read more under "Buy seedlings" in the left-hand navigation.
Why is it so important to know where the seed and seedling come from?
The provenance of the seed and the seedling, meaning the area that they come from, is highly significant for the growth and vigour of the plant. Pine seedlings should be planted south of their origin to promote vitality and resistance, while the opposite applies for spruce, which should be planted north of its origin.
What provenance should I use?
That depends on where you intend to plant – the altitude above sea level, and latitude.
What type of tray are the seedlings grown in?
If you buy JackPot® the seedling are grown in JackPot trays with 67 pots. If you are buying PowerPot®, they are grown in a tray with 128 pots.
How old are the seedlings when they are delivered?
One year old.
How will my seedlings be delivered?
Our trucks deliver SCA seedlings throughout northern Sweden. If you purchase large volumes, we can deliver the seedlings to the planting site in most cases.
Where do your seeds come from?
The seeds that we cultivate usually come from our own seed orchards. They give 10–15% higher growth than ordinary stand seeds.
Where can I find a planting description?
There is a short planting description under “Planting instructions” that can be printed.
How many seedlings do I need ?
Our recommendation is 2 000-2 500 seedlings per hectare.
What will happen to the cultivation frame that the seedling containers are placed in, after delivery?
The truck that delivers the seedlings to you will bring back the cultivation frame.
What do I do with the seedling containers after I have finished the plantation?
The containers belong to NorrPlant and shall be returned to SCA so we can reuse them. Ask your wood purchaser where the nearest collecting point for empty containers is.
