SCA’s policy is not to purchase timber from key biotypes, regardless of whether this entails standing or felled timber, unless harvesting has been carried out for nature conservation purposes.
If there is some doubt as to whether an area should be classed as a key biotype or not, the landowner and SCA should both contact the Swedish Forest Agency for clarification and any limitations.
We may refuse an assignment that we consider unsuitable from a nature conservation aspect. The policy also extends to delivery timber. SCA does not purchase timber when harvesting has breached the Forestry Act.
