Long-distance forest owners

More than half of Sweden’s 23 million hectares of forest is privately owned, and many forest owners live far away from their properties. No matter where you live, you can still manage your forest actively.

Forest owners do not always live close to their forests today, sometimes hundreds of kilometres away. According to the Swedish Statistical Yearbook of Forestry for 2007, there were more than 240,000 forest properties in Sweden in 2006. About 66,000 of these properties, or 28%, belonged to non-resident owners, or forest owners who do not live in the same municipality as their forests are located. A further 20,000 properties, or 8%, were owned by partial non-residents.

You may have inherited your property, or purchased your forest as a future investment or place for recreation. If you live far away from your property, we can help you manage your forest successfully.
