SCA integrates nature consideration into all of its forestry operations, such as final felling, pre-commercial thinning, thinning and scarification.
The most obvious example is how nature conservation is integrated with final felling, where the retention of various high conservation value trees play an important role. Individual trees, groups of trees, various types of buffer zones and valuable biotopes, such as waterlogged woodlands, ravines, rock outcrop areas and rocky slopes are retained. About 4% of the timber volume, corresponding to 7% of the entire area, is saved in the harvested area.
Follow-up of nature consideration activities carried out in conjunction with final felling in 2008

Approx. 5% of the timber volume is left for nature consideration within harvested areas.
