Ecological landscape planning

SCA uses the results of biotope inventories and information that has already been entered in the forest database for ecological landscape planning.

Areas that are particularly valuable and sensitive are selected and designated non-intervention sites or are managed using appropriate methods.

About 5% of woodland is totally excluded from forestry activities and extra consideration is given to flora and fauna in a further 3%. Unusual forest types are also re-created, such as hardwood forests.
