Where special conservation values exists that require protection in accordance with the Swedish Environmental Code, SCA collaborates with county administrative boards and the Swedish National Environmental Protection Agency in their efforts to establish a nature reserve.
As a result, SCA has sold large areas of forest to the government; nearly 41,000 hectares.
