When the landscape analysis has been completed, we produce the actual landscape plan.
It is at this stage that we build nature conservation areas – areas that will be excluded from traditional forestry activities because of their high conservation value.
In nature conservation areas, we decide whether the forest will be completely saved, or put “on hold”, which means that we postpone the harvesting of a stand that is mature in financial terms, or managed using alternative methods.
In the plan, we try to link saved forests in networks to create natural pathways for animals and plants.
