The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an independent, international group of companies and organisations that has drafted general principles and criteria for responsible forest management.
The Swedish FSC® standards were developed by representatives from the forest industry, environmental organisations, the indigenous Sami people and trade unions.
They have adapted the FSC’s international principles and criteria to Swedish conditions. The resulting standard contains specific rules for how many trees that must be saved when harvesting and the proportion of forest that must be excluded from harvesting.
