Health and Safety – Top Priority for SCA Recycling

During 2011 all employees across the SCA Recycling UK network worked extremely hard in maintaining the Company’s high standard of safety in all aspects of its work.

Director Steve Smith thanked “everyone for their hard work and dedication to ensuring that we have developed and maintained the necessary culture within the Company to allow for the safe performance of our business. It is a noteworthy achievement that we have been able to go through 2011 with no lost time accidents and one of which we should be proud.”

During 2011 our Newhaven branch achieved a new company safety record of 2,362 days (and counting) without an LTA, Caldicot reached 1,000 LTA free days during December and both Newhaven and Portsmouth branches went through 2011 with no LTA’s or minor accidents.

Simon Byng, HSEQ Manager reiterated that in 2012 we must continue to strive for excellence and maintain our focus in this area. Our target is that every day is to be accident free and through this we will continue to build upon our achievements.
