SCA operates a network of processing sites. At these sites a combination of dry mixed recyclables and paper are processed. The network comprises two materials recovery facilities (MRF) and eight specialised paper processing plants. We can offer the option of bulking a wide range of materials.
Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)
As a highly automated system, 17 tonnes an hour of dry mixed recyclable materials can be processed through the SCA MRF.
The system incorporates a combination of manual and the latest optical sorting technology. This ensures high recovery and purity levels which produce minimal unrecyclable material.
Unrecyclable material is recovered in SCA’s own renewable fuel plants co-located at the company’s paper mills.

Paper processing facilities
SCA’s network of paper recovery facilities bales and bulks the full range and grades of recovered paper.
Paper is inspected and graded, sorted where necessary and baled or bulked depending on the customer’s requirements.
This established network receives other materials for immediate transfer into SCA’s MRF network.
