With Star, customers have access to know-how and service
“Östrand pulp mill has in many years worked in joint co-operation projects with customers. We have for example increased the thickness and bulk of in tissue products”, says Jörgen Bergström, Product Manager for Star. Another example is our corporation with a Swedish company Korsnäs Frövi, who manufactures liquid and packaging board for primarily the food industry. Due to problems encountered with liquid penetrating through the edges of the packages, the company considered changing its pulp supplier. However, it was first decided to determine the reasons for the problem and an intense cooperation was initiated with SCA instead.
“SCA offers competency in areas not solely focused on pulp. We wanted to determine the reasons for the problem and SCA has the resources for this,” says Peter Juntti at Korsnäs Frövi, who was the product development engineer responsible for the project.
