Luna Wave is a completely new product with a lower grammage combined with a functional pattern. The well balanced high density areas are developed to create a directional wicking of the liquid. For high viscosity fluids like blood the wicking is up to 2,5 times higher in the length direction compared to the cross direction which dramatically reduces the risk for side leakage in the final product.
Luna Wave is developed to be used as a semi-finished product, that is, an absorption core that can be sliced/cut directly out of the sheet. Luna Wave is characterised by excellent absorption combined with directional liquid-wicking properties.

Luna is based on our own Star Fluff, which is further refined to an exclusive absorption material in roll form. Luna has superb runnability and is highly suitable for the manufacture of various types of absorption products.
Luna Wave has a lower grammage combined with a well-levelled pattern that is engraved, which makes the product soft and comfortable. The pattern adds to the product’s strength properties and provides excellent runnability in subsequent processes.
SCA has developed this patented product entirely in-house with specially adapted properties for hygiene products, such as sanitary pads and incontinence products.
