Unique Environmental Profile
The combination of TCF, FSC®, PEFC and with the continuously improving environmental work, has given us a leading position among pulp mills with the least environmental impact.
Our well managed forest holdings together with energy-effective processes and optimized transports enable us to reduce our Carbon Footprint. With the new lime kiln SCA Östrand reduces the yearly fuel oil consumption by 17,000 cubic meters. Which also means a reduction of carbon footprint by 80 percent.
Celeste, Star and Luna are clean pulps that meets high product safety requirements and complies with the criteria for the ISEGA, the US FDA and Certificates (the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) for paper and pulp in contact with food. In addition to the FSC certification, we also comply with the ECO-lable and the Swan standards.
Production of our products is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and our pulp is 100% chlorine free. A Chain of Custody agreement, in accordance with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), has been in place since June 2000.
