Newsprint

Our Newsprint products

Newsprint is most commonly used to print newspapers as well as other publications and advertising materials. It is designed for use in printing presses that employ long web of paper rather than individual sheets of paper. SCA offers GraphoNews produced at Ortviken paper mill in Sweden and Renaissance produced at Aylesford Newsprint in the UK county of Kent.

GraphoNews

GraphoNews is a classic SCA product and Ortviken paper mill has many loyal newsprint customers, some of whom have been customers ever since production started at the end of the 1950s. GraphoNews is made from healthy, fresh spruce pulpwood leading to quality benefits such as high stiffness and good readability as well as being amongst the best in its class in terms of runnability in the press. The Ortviken process is Totally Chlorine Free (TCF) and SCA can offer FSC-certified newsprint.

Renaissance

For eighty years newsprint has been produced at the mill near the village of Aylesford in southern England. Aylesford Newsprint manufactures 100% recycled newsprint which is sold under the Renaissance brand name and used by leading European newspaper publishers. We recover half a million tonnes per annum of used newspapers and magazines to produce some 410,000 tonnes of recycled newsprint. A large proportion of this is achieved by our own waste bins distributed through out of England.
