SCA Transforest specialises in the transport of forest products with a complete distribution network for sea, land-based and rail transports throughout Europe and to overseas destinations. SCA has devoted a great deal of energy to minimise the environmental emissions from transports. The majority of transport companies we work with are certified in accordance with ISO 9000 and ISO 14000.
The SCA vessels have been extended and have increased load capacity, without any increase in fuel consumption and emissions. Finally, efficient transport planning and return transports have resulted in a considerable reduction in emissions per transported ton.
The trucks from mill to port are equipped with catalytic converters and particle filters. Particles and hydrocarbons are reduced by more than 90%. SCA Transforest use rail transports for major volumes of outgoing finished products and incoming raw material. SCA Forest Products is extensively using rail for transports of logs. In total SCA is one of Sweden’s largest rail users.
