Energy management system

Our industry is the most electricity-intense of all industries. Nearly all operations use electricity. The largest consumers are naturally paper and pulp manufacture. The manufacture of one ton of kraft pulp requires up to 8,000 kWh, one ton of mechanical pulp 2,500 kWh, one ton of recycled fibre 400 kWh and one ton of paper 1,000 kWh. For comparison, 1,000 kWh is sufficient to keep one 60W light bulb lit for nearly two years.

Since the total electricity consumption is so high, in terms of percentage it might be worthwhile taking a closer look at small consumers when considering saving. With an energy management system, the entire company’s energy utilization is monitored and managed so that the manufacturing process will be more energy efficient.
