HYGIENE |At the beginning of 2011, SCA signed an international contract with 2theloo, a start-up company of a chain of toilet shops striving to turn the visit to a public restroom into unique and fun experiences. The project was initiated by SCA in the Netherlands and involves the brands Tork, Libresse, TENA, Edet, Tempo and Zewa.
“At 2theloo, many SCA brands are present - with Tork providing the whole range of washroom products”, says Ron Goselink, Commercial director AFH Benelux and Project manager for 2theloo about the cooperation focusing on sustainability, innovation and hygiene.
“Where appropriate, the toilet paper is the local retail brand, like Edet 3-ply in Benelux. Visitors can also buy SCA hygiene products as well as other small necessities in the 2theloo shops. Restroom visitors also receive a voucher that can be used towards any purchase from the shop.”
The project includes product sampling, the introduction of new products, press or customer events and brand activation activities such as Global Handwashing Day and World Toilet Day later this year. There are also interactive mirrors broadcasting brand movies of SCA, and much more.
“2theloo shops exist in shopping streets, shopping malls and train stations. Depending on the location, the average daily number of visitors per shop varies from 500 to 3,000 a day,” says Ron. “So far, shops have opened in the Netherlands, Belgium and Poland and we have a lot of promising prospects in pipeline”.
