Recognition and achievements

In the area of sustainability, SCA is a global leader which acts locally.

SCA’s commitment to sustainability is widely recognised:

  • In 2007, SCA was named the world’s second greenest company by EIRIS (Ethical Investment Research Services) and the British newspaper, The Independent;
  • SCA was ranked as one of the world’s most sustainable companies by British consultancy Innovest;
  • For the second consecutive year (2005 and 2006), SCA Tissue Europe was the clear winner when the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) surveyed sustainability among tissue producers. The results of the 2007 survey are yet to be published;
  • SCA’s sustainability reporting was ranked among the best of European paper companies in a survey conducted by the WWF;
  • SCA received the best overall score among Swedish listed companies for its environmental efforts and work with human rights in a survey carried out by Folksam, a Swedish insurance company;
  • The financial markets have also recognised SCA’s work in the area of sustainability by including it in a number of sustainability indexes including the Global FTSE4Good Index and the Global Challenge Index.
