Today when you walk into some Starbucks outlets in China, you will not only find the very popular Starbucks Green Tea Frappachino, nice muffins and scones but also Tork! After a 12 month long fruitful discussion, from Q1 2009, the Tork China team supplies Starbucks with Tork N1 dispenser napkins for its 150 outlets located in both North China and South China.

Before upgrading to Tork N1 system, napkins were put into a stack on cabinet at Starbucks outlet with no dispenser, which once caused a wasteful over-consumption. "We offer Starbucks a much more cost-efficient and anti-waste solution, which helps cut napkin consumption by at least 20%. A better understanding of our customer's needs and to strike a good balance between service quality and cost-in-use for the customer is one key driver to win this deal. Next, we will be applying the Tork system to all the rest of Starbucks outlets in China." says Vincent Jin, Account Manager, AFH China.
In addition, SCA's efforts in life-cycle approach to sustainability has been the other key driver for this successful landing. "Starbucks takes a proactive stance on caring for the environment. We are very pleased to find that the hygiene solution Tork offers is truly environmental friendly with all the pulp FSC certified." says Jessica Chen, Buyer, Starbucks (Shanghai) Supply Chain Company Limited.
"Tork's landing at Starbucks is an important step as we progress our intent to align the Tork brand and improved hygiene standards throughout China and the Asian region." adds Daniel Qiu, Sales & Marketing Manager, AFH China..
Since 1999, Starbucks, the world's biggest coffee-shop chain, has opened more than 350 outlets in 26 cities in China mainland, the area with the fastest growth, and has become the most popular coffee shop brand among Chinese white-collars aged between 25 and 40.
