Leading a design team in managing the total operations for one out of the eight SCA regional product design centres around the world
"When I joined SCA as a Design Engineer in 2001, my job certainly had its challenges. In fact, one of my first responsibilities was to support the start-up of the SCA regional design centre which I am now heading in my present role as Design Centre Manager. Interestingly, I was last year posted to China for two months. My task? To be part of the team assisting the start-up for the newest SCA regional design centre in Shanghai.
For sure, I have been given numerous development opportunities and stimulating tasks, through projects, assignments and job scope expansion, to both challenge and prove myself. Plus, I value the opportunities given to actively collaborate and exchange knowledge with our business units across both Europe and Asia.
Being invited to our operations in Europe in 2007 was a great experience. The advanced innovations and technologies in-experiment by our European development and design teams never fail to widen my professional perspective.
Sharing our best practices and know-how across our global pool of expertise is just one of the factors that help us to excel as a worldwide team, and I enjoy working closely with our European colleagues to achieve our common business goals.
I know that my understanding of the business and functional experience from the last seven years with SCA has equipped me with the right foundation and skills I now possess to effectively lead my present team.
