Development and delivery of structured programs and learning opportunities to support the training and development needs of employees
"As a training manager, I am responsible for the organizing of formal training sessions. At SCA however, learning really doesn't just occur during a training session – it takes place all the time!
We are surrounded by in-house talents with solid experience and skills in their respective functional areas. Everyone is generous and willing to share their time and knowledge. In fact, our most effective learnings usually happen outside of a formal training session.
I first joined SCA as a trainer in 2004. From the start, I received the necessary support and guidance from my manager and colleagues, allowing me to perform effectively in my role. After being promoted to Assistant Training Manager, SCA continuously encouraged me to challenge myself. Today, I am a Training Manager, but also taking on a broader scope of responsibilities in the area of corporate communications.
SCA encourages an open culture though cross-functional sharing, coaching and inter-divisional networking. The formal training or sharing sessions that we organize are not just for education purposes, but also provide a valuable opportunity to meet and interact with colleagues whom we might not usually meet in the normal course of our daily work. This helps to foster close links among all members of our huge SCA team.
As long as you are willing to take initiatives, there are no barriers to your potential for development at SCA. Managers do all they can to support your growth and help you to blossom!"
