The Resource Management System (RMS) is a unique management tool for SCA environmental work.
SCA has a comprehensive information management system for the collection and aggregation of data from both production sites and Business Groups. The Resource Management System (RMS) analyzes data that describes SCA energy, water, transport and raw material use as well as waste and emission levels. RMS is also used for internal auditing and follow-up and external benchmarking, and as an evaluation tool for acquisitions and large investments.
This is a schematic diagram of resources and discharges involved in the industrial production of pulp and paper. SCA uses energy and raw materials (forest fibre and recovered paper) in its processes and different transport systems to transport raw material to the mills and to distribute products to SCA customers. These processes result in air emissions, water discharges and solid waste.
